Graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1981 with a B.Math (Bachelor of Mathematics) degree. He spent several years working in Public Accounting as he was working towards a Chartered Accountancy designation. This experience placed him in a position to be able to provide management and accounting consulting services. In 1984 he began working with companies to computerize their accounting and inventory management systems. In 1986 his company Vector Consulting was installing, supporting and training multi-user enterprise accounting systems. Les feels that e-commerce actually began back when companies started using computers to handle their day to day transactions. "We just didn't have a fancy name for it then."
